Of all the television shows that premiered in 2022, it’s hard to think of one that made a bigger impact than HBO’s “House of the Dragon.” So it’s no surprise that the cast was on hand at the 2023 Golden Globes on Jan. 10 to represent. Cast members Milly Alcock and Emma D’Arcy looked stunning on the red carpet Tuesday night, sporting their own all-black looks.
After being nominated for best television series, and drama, “House of the Dragon” ended up taking home the award. D’Arcy and Alcock joined showrunner Miguel Sapochnik onstage as he accepted the award for the show. D’Arcy was also nominated for best performance by an actress in a television series for their role as the older version of Rhaenyra Targaryen. It’s D’Arcy’s first Golden Globe nomination.
The sweeping “Game of Thrones” prequel, which tells the story of the Targaryens that came hundreds of years before Daenerys and the events that led up to her battle for the throne in the original series, was an instant hit. The season one finale in October 2022 gave HBO its biggest rating boost since the finale of its predecessor, “Game of Thrones,” and “House of the Dragon”‘s dynamic cast is partly to thank for that success. The show was renewed for a second season in August, so you can probably expect more award-season appearances from this cast moving forward.
Ahead, see their Golden Globes photos.
